Post: Assistant Information Technology Officer (Infrastructure) (Non-Civil Service Vacancy)

Starting Salary Range: HK$21,800 - $30,900 per month, depending on qualifications and experience

Entry Requirements:

(a) Candidates [See Note (1)] should have –

  1. an accredited Associate Degree or a Higher Diploma from a Hong Kong tertiary institution in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines, or equivalent;
  2. met the language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 2’ [See Note (2)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and
  3. at least two (2) years of relevant post-qualification full-time IT working experience, of which one (1) year must be in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
  4. (b) Candidates should be customer-oriented and able to perform under pressure, willing to work after office hours and occasionally on an on-call basis as required.
(c) Preference will be given to candidates who have hands-on experience or good knowledge in the following areas –

  1. Operation of cinema theatre or home theatre (e.g. digital cinema package, cinema projection, sound system, etc.);
  2. Multi-media application/ production;
  3. Microsoft Windows Server, Group Policy, WSUS and Zabbix;
  4. Video conferencing/ online meeting solutions (e.g. Zoom, Cisco Webex, etc.); and
  5. General IT support.

Duties:

Assistant Information Technology Officer (Infrastructure) will be mainly responsible for –

  1. managing and operating projection and screening of films in different formats such as video disc, digital cinema package and film prints;
  2. managing, operating, maintaining and providing technical support of audio-visual hardware as well as software, and multi-media applications and files;
  3. providing technical advice to facilitate the procurement of theatre and/ or audio-visual equipment;
  4. compiling and updating information in the data systems;
  5. providing helpdesk and hotline support for in-house IT services;
  6. performing daily health check, data backup and security patch management and deployment; and
  7. carrying out other technical and administrative duties as specified by the management.

Notes:

  1. Applicants should have met the entry requirements on or before the closing date for application.
  2. For non-civil service appointment purpose, 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 2' in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
  3. Candidates will be required to attend a selection interview. Where a large number of candidates meet the specified entry requirements, the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) may devise shortlisting criteria to select the better qualified candidates for further processing. In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited.

Terms of Appointment:

Successful candidates will be appointed on two-year non-civil service contract (NCSC) terms. Further renewal of contract will be subject to the candidate’s performance and service needs.

Fringe Benefits:

  1. A gratuity may be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will add up to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
  2. Rest days, statutory holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
