Entertainment Standards Control Officer

Role

Entertainment Standards Control Officer is responsible for administering television and sound broadcasting licences, handling relevant complaints, providing secretariat support to the Communications Authority, examining films according to the film censorship standards and administering the Film Censorship Ordinance, promoting Hong Kong films and enhancing the long-term development of the local film industry, etc.

General Entry Requirements

  • A Hong Kong Degree, or equivalent;
  • A pass result in the Aptitude Test in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE);
  • Met the language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 2’ results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the CRE, or equivalent; and be able to speak English, Cantonese and Putonghua fluently; and
  • A pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (BLNST).

Role

Assistant Inspector (Telecommunications) provides technical and enforcement support including duties such as processing licence applications, monitoring radio frequency spectrum, investigating radio interference, assisting in the enforcement of relevant ordinances, conducting technical measurements, etc.

General Entry Requirements

  • A Diploma or Higher Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electronic and Information Engineering, Electronic and Communications Engineering, Information and Communications Technology or Telecommunications Engineering from a Hong Kong polytechnic/polytechnic university, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or technical college/technical institute, or equivalent; or
  • A Maritime Radiocommunications General Certificate; or
  • A First Class or Second Class Radio Electronic Certificate from the Communications Authority, or equivalent;
  • Met the language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 2’ or above results in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent;
  • 3 years’ relevant post-qualification working experience in the electronic engineering, telecommunications, broadcasting or information technology fields; and
  • A pass result in the BLNST.

Regulatory Affairs Manager

Role

Regulatory Affairs Manager is a multi-disciplinary grade focusing on regulatory duties such as monitoring the telecommunications market development, providing support in research and analysis of policy and regulatory issues, evaluating licence applications, handling cases in relation to competition matters, unfair trade practices of communications services providers and sending of commercial electronic messages, etc.

General Entry Requirements

  • A First or Second class honours bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, Law, or Business Administration from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
  • 4 years’ post-graduate experience in the relevant field, preferably in the telecommunications sector or equivalent;
  • Met the language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 1’ results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the CRE, or equivalent; and
  • A pass result in the BLNST.

Telecommunications Engineer

Role

Telecommunications Engineer is a professional engineering grade contributing to duties including licensing of telecommunications systems, spectrum planning and assignment of radio frequencies, coordination of satellite networks, provision of technical advice on the control and regulation of telecommunications and broadcasting services, provision of support in telecommunications infrastructure development, setting of telecommunications standards, etc.

General Entry Requirements

  • Corporate Membership in Electronics, Electrical or Information Discipline of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers elected after 5 December 1975, or equivalent;
  • Met the language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 1’ results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the CRE, or equivalent; and
  • A pass result in the BLNST.
