OFCA and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (“IMDA”) of Singapore held an online bilateral meeting on 13 May 2022. This was the first-ever bilateral meeting held in virtual format since the suspension of face-to-face exchange by the COVID-19 epidemic. The two delegations, led respectively by Mr Chaucer Leung, Director-General of Communications, and Ms Aileen Chia, Deputy Chief Executive and Director-General (Telecoms and Post) of IMDA, shared the latest developments in the telecommunications markets and regulatory experience in the deployment of 5G services in both jurisdictions. Exchanges were also made on other topics such as supply of radio spectrum, regulatory measures against scam, network resilience etc.
