As autumn breeze fills the air, it's a perfect time to go for a hike. In order to promote public awareness of the safety of mountain activities, OFCA continued to participate in this year's "Mountaineering Safety Promotion Day" organised by the Civil Aid Service at the MacPherson Playground in Mong Kok on 22 October 2023. Mr Kingsley Yeung, Assistant Director (Support) of OFCA, attended the opening ceremony as one of the officiating guests.
Throughout the day, OFCA set up an exhibition booth at the event to introduce useful tips on maintaining effective communications while hiking in country parks through display panels, interactive game and demonstrations of the use of various communication equipment such as walkie-talkies and digital maps.
To combat telephone scam, OFCA also took this opportunity to promote anti-scam messages by distributing relevant flyer and souvenirs to the event participants.
