The Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) continued to actively participate in the "Mountaineering Safety Promotion Day" this year, an annual event organised by the Civil Aid Service. The event, which was held at Quarry Bay Park Phase 1 on 19 October 2025, successfully concluded with the participation of more than twenty government departments and public organisations. To show OFCA's support to the event, Mr. Kingsley Yeung, Assistant Director (Support) of OFCA, attended the opening ceremony as one of the officiating guests.
To promote useful tips for ensuring effective communications during country park hikes, OFCA set up a booth at the event, featuring informative display panels, engaging games, and live demonstrations of essential communication equipment such as walkie-talkies and digital maps. Additionally, OFCA seized this opportunity to raise public awareness of anti-phone scam messages by distributing leaflets and souvenirs to event participants.
