This year, OFCA continued to participate in the lecture series of the "Science in the Public Service", a campaign jointly organised by the Hong Kong Observatory and other government bureaux/departments and public bodies. Under the theme of the lecture series, "Science Experience and Data Application", Mr Charles Chow, Senior Telecommunications Engineer of OFCA, delivered a presentation titled "Supporting the Development of the Low-altitude Economy from Telecommunications Perspective" at the Hong Kong Science Museum on 13 December 2025.
Wireless communications networks are the crucial component of the infrastructure for the low-altitude economy. During his talk, Mr Chow discussed the advancements in wireless communications technology and spectrum allocation in support of the unmanned aircraft system for the low-altitude economy. He also highlighted various measures implemented by the Communications Authority to promote the low-altitude economy activities from a telecommunications perspective.
