Local Tertiary and Secondary Students Visited OFCA’s Radio Monitoring Unit

More than 70 students from local tertiary institutions and secondary schools visited OFCA’s Radio Monitoring Unit (RMU) located in Kwun Tong between January and March 2016. The three visits cum career talks held during this period were organised by OFCA with an aim to increase youngsters’ understanding of the work of OFCA by seeing the actual operation of RMU, one of OFCA’s important units responsible for monitoring radiofrequency interferences and identifying the locations of sources of interference. Career talks, which introduced the work of the Communications Authority and OFCA as well as the career opportunities that could be offered by OFCA, were also held during the visits.

The students showed much interest in RMU’s various facilities, such as, satellite monitoring room and satellite dish.
