Office of the Communications Authority - 6G Global Summit 2025 Successfully Concluded

The 4th edition of the “6G Global Summit” (Summit) was successfully concluded on 9 May 2025 after two days of fruitful discussions and exchanges at a hotel in Hong Kong. The Communications Authority was honoured to be the host of the Summit, the first time that the organiser Forum Global, an international conference organisation, brought this global event to the Asia Pacific region.

The Summit was a hybrid event and attracted over 700 participants (both in-person and online) from more than 80 countries or economies — including high-level representatives from regulatory bodies, international organisations, telecommunications operators and corporations, as well as industry experts and scholars — to explore the potential of the sixth-generation (6G) mobile communications technology in shaping a better future.

The Summit featured keynote speeches and panel discussions on the key priorities shaping 6G developments, including standardisation, technological innovations, sustainability and potential applications, as well as the strategic role of the Asia Pacific region and the opportunities presented by a more connected and intelligent global network.

In addition to the main programme, the Summit also included a networking reception hosted by the Communications Association of Hong Kong, an association of local communications operators, on 8 May, during which the participants enjoyed a relaxing opportunity to connect and foster industry collaboration outside the packed agenda.

The Summit not only highlighted Hong Kong’s role as a regional communications hub and its support for 6G development but also showcased the city’s achievements in advanced telecommunications developments, further telling the good stories of Hong Kong on the global stage.

First held as a virtual conference in 2022 by Forum Global, the Summit has entered its fourth edition this year. The previous two editions were held in Bahrain in 2023 and the United Kingdom in 2024.
