To enhance the awareness of the real-name registration (RNR) programme of SIM cards among the elderly, staff of the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) have visited over ten elderly community centres in various districts including Ma On Shan, Sheung Wan, Ngau Tau Kok, Sham Shui Po, Yuen Long, Chai Wan, Mongkok, Causeway Bay, Kwun Tong and North Point since September 2022. We introduced the details of the RNR programme to more than 300 elderly participants, encouraged them to complete RNR as early as possible and offered assistance to them to complete RNR on the spot.
In addition, OFCA has also arranged on-line training sessions for the staff of various social service units to facilitate them to assist their clients to complete RNR and offered to arrange our staff to provide direct assistance to people in need to complete RNR in their centres.
