The “5G Campus Application Competition” (Competition) organised by OFCA and co-organised by the Hong Kong Productivity Council was successfully concluded with the Award Presentation Ceremony (Ceremony) held on 9 December 2023.  The list of Champion, first runner-up, second runner-up and merit award winners was announced at the Ceremony.  The Director-General of Communications, Mr Chaucer Leung, together with other guests, presented the awards to the winning teams.

The Competition was launched in May this year and held in stages, comprising training workshops, initial round assessment, final round assessment and the award presentation ceremony.  With the theme of "5G Campus for Smart Life", the Competition aims to enhance students' understanding of 5G technology and its applications, as well as to encourage their active participation in the development of advanced technologies and innovative industries through the application of 5G technology. A total of 33 submissions from 29 secondary schools were received. In August, 10 teams were shortlisted to compete in the final round held in November. The judging panel determined the final rankings of the shortlisted entries based on the scoring criteria.  For the list of the winning teams and details of the Competition, please visit www.ofca.gov.hk/5gcompetition
